What is EBOO therapy?
EBOO stands for extracorporeal blood oxygenation and ozonation. During a session, blood flows from one arm through a sterile, single-use circuit — where it is filtered, enriched with oxygen and treated with a precisely controlled dose of medical-grade ozone — and returns through the other arm, continuously, for the length of the session.
Where hemofiltration fits in
Most EBOO systems oxygenate and ozonate. SOMA’s protocol adds true hemofiltration: as blood passes through the circuit, a filtration membrane removes unwanted components from the plasma before the blood is returned. It is the combination — filtration plus oxygenation plus ozonation in one continuous pass — that makes EBOO with hemofiltration SOMA’s most advanced circulatory therapy.
How it differs from standard ozone therapy
Conventional ozone approaches, such as major autohemotherapy, draw and treat a small volume of blood — typically 100–200 ml — and reinfuse it. EBOO treats your circulation continuously over roughly 45–60 minutes, processing a far larger volume. It is not a different substance; it is a substantially more comprehensive delivery of the same medical-grade ozone, with filtration added.
How does SOMA use EBOO with hemofiltration?
EBOO at SOMA is a physician-prescribed therapy inside a wider protocol — never a standalone purchase. It is most often considered where diagnostics point to chronic inflammatory load, sluggish recovery, immune dysregulation or high oxidative stress, and it typically sits alongside nutritional, hormonal and lifestyle work addressing why that load exists.
Within a test-first protocol
Your blood work comes first. Where results suggest your biology may benefit, your SOMA physician sets the number and spacing of EBOO sessions, and your response — measured, not assumed — determines what follows. Individual responses vary, and EBOO is not offered as a treatment or cure for any disease.
Who is EBOO suitable for?
A SOMA physician makes that determination — always from your blood work, medical history and current medications, never from a menu. Screening is mandatory. Certain conditions and situations exclude EBOO entirely, including some cardiovascular, clotting and blood-pressure profiles, and pregnancy. If EBOO is not appropriate for you, your physician will say so and propose what your results actually support.
What happens during an EBOO session?
Before
Your vitals are checked and your physician confirms you are cleared for that day’s session. Two small IV lines are placed, one in each arm.
During
Blood flows continuously through the sterile single-use circuit — filtered, oxygenated, ozonated, returned. A typical session runs 45–60 minutes under continuous clinical supervision. Most clients read or rest; the process is generally comfortable.
After
Lines are removed and you can usually resume your day. Your response is noted and reviewed against your protocol, informing whether and when the next session is scheduled.
